The guarding division of J&M currently serves the following industries:

Modus Operandi
Detailed risk and security surveys will be conducted before any new service commences. Job specifications and descriptions are drawn up from a standard pro-forma and the client’s input and specific requirements are recorded in this section of the service.
Security Officers are recruited according to the Companies Manpower Policy, allowing for well-vested vetting criteria. The training of officers and maintenance of a standardised service to our clients is a matter of priority and minimum standards for the recruitment and employment of new staff are clearly laid down viz:

Security Officers at J&M are graded and compensated in accordance with Wage Determination 6 and all officers are registered with the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (S.I.R.A.).
The management of J&M understands the difficult circumstances security officers have to face in conducting their daily routine, and displays a high regard for the quality of life and dignity of staff. This has led to an incentive scheme being developed by J & M to encourage personnel to assert themselves and excel in their daily tasks.
Formulation of an internal policy ensures that any complaints are dealt with timeous, promptly and fair. This policy are provided to employees upon joining the company, and officers know and understand the penalty for wandering off this track.
Management staff is remunerated with performance bonuses over and above normal salaries and benefits and is based on the following performance indicators:
- Service calls to clients indicating the level of competency of the manager controlling and managing his/her subordinates.
- Responding to complaints lodged or problems identified by clients in respect of the required service levels.
- Continuous feedback to clients on preventative measures, and corrective action instituted to achieve maximum levels of safety and security.
- Effectively addressing all complaints received from his/her staff compliment.
All premises where J&M provide guarding services is equipped with an Occurrence Book to enable management and clients to follow the sequence of events for the duration of any shift worked.
Our staff will:
Always be in full uniform when on duty;- Receive ongoing site training;
- Be assertive, well mannered and courteous.
J&M to install electronic guard monitoring devices at specific points on clients’ sites to measure and enhance productivity and alertness of officers on duty. Devices are only installed upon receipt of a signed quotation by the customer.
The device ensures that the guard is awake, which appeals specifically to our clients making use of a night shift officer. Computer printouts are made available on request to our clients in order for them to monitor officers activities and possibly clear up any discrepancy, which may arise.
Monthly Contract Management meetings between the client and J&M’s dedicated Contract Manager is deemed as essential in our strive to:
- Enhance and maintain client relations
- Optimise service levels
- Identify and address non-conformance to requirements
- Evaluate service levels against contractual requirements
